green gate farms
Farms, located only 8 miles east of downtown, produces healthy, nutritious food just minutes from the heart of the city. The farm is open to anyone interested in connecting with agriculture and where food comes from. Volunteers are needed particularly during the next several weeks, as now is prime planting/gardening season. No experience is necessary, and you can work with animals or gardening. I volunteer there regularly and would highly recommend going to help out! Email to volunteer, or visit their website http://www.greengatefarms.net/ for more info.
