Details:
The plans for this project are designed by a UT landscape architecture student. We're taking an unplanted, high foot-traffic area on the south side of Andrews residence hall and turning it into a fragrant, colorful, seasonal garden with native and adapted plants (roses, rosemary, lavender, Beauty Berry, rue, oregeno, and others), limestone paved pathways, and benches to sit on. Any UT student is welcome to come help out and all supplies will be provided, as well as free breakfast.

Thanks to Keep Austin Beautiful for financial support.

Any questions? Email gardening@utenvironment.org

Hope you can come and help out!

  3. I think I'll be helping out with a campus garden here! It took a whole year and I'll probably just be a volunteer, but it'll be good to get back to work.

Can't wait to see what y'all do with the Andrews spot.

  4. Ack! I signed up thinking I had a free weekend, but I forgot that I RSVP'd for this weekend's Honors Day event.

Will there be any other events like this in the future?

  5. Yeah, unfortunately this event clashes with Honors Day. Sorry about that! We won't be having another landscaping "event" anytime soon, but our weekly committee meetings are similar, just at a smaller scale. We do have a tree planting event coming up April 21, so that info will be up soon!
